Thinking about car shopping

I have been thinking about getting a new car for about 6 months. Main reason I have had my car for almost 130,000 miles. Many road trips and since 2007. I love my car don’t get me wrong I’ve had some great times but I feel like its time to upgrade. I need something with a little better gas. I am looking at a Ford Focus; 4 door; 4 CL. So it’s a small car but a little roomy. It’s a 2011, with less than 15,000 miles. Downside they want $10,000 for a car. I think in the long run it would be a good car and worth the money. I’m just not sure if I can get a car loan since I just started my job and Kyle just got the house loan in his name. I plan on going to the bank Friday and talking to them. I can only see. You never know until you try.

How-to: laundry detergent

I hate buying laundry detergent. I feel like it is a waste of money and I wash so many clothes a bottle of detergent doesn’t last very long for the price it cost. I went online to find out how to make my own and I found so many different “recipes” I couldn’t hardly wait to start. I found one “recipe” I liked and edited it to my liking. I went to my local Wal-Mart and was able to find everything I needed for such a super cheap price.

This makes 1/2 gallon. I doubled it and made 1 gallon due the fact the jar I bought was a 1 gallon jar. Glass jar was $4.97 and the coffee scoop was $1.64 (1 tablespoon).

What you need:

  • 2 cups of 20 Mule team Borax ($3.38 – 4lb box)
  • 2 cups of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda ($3.24 – 3lb box)
  • 1 cup of baking soda ($0.50 – 14oz box)
  • 1 bar of Fels-Naptha Soap ($0.97 – per bar)
  • 1 cup of Oxi-Clean ($3.86 – 1.3lb tub)
  • 1 cup of Purex Crystals ($4.85 – 28ox bottle)

Tools:

  • 1 large bowl
  • Cheese grater
  • Measuring cups

How-to:

  1. Grate your bar of soap. I used the fine side of the grater. It seems to mix better into the powder.
  2. Mix all powder ingredients together.
  3. Add grated soap into powder ingredients.
  4. Mix all together.
  5. Done!

Side note: I have a front loading washer and I add it right in the drum. I use two scoops. It seems to make my clothes smell amazing and gets them just as clean or more as store bought. If you are wondering about the smell it smells like lavender and just clean. . .due to the Purex is lavender scented.

Cost of just ingredients total: $16.90 And I still have a lot of extra borax and washing soda for my next use. Which I found pretty awesome!

Life is happening right before my eyes

OMG, this is the second time I am typing out this entry due to my server just stop responding, then throwing a “Database Error” then when I click back it just has nothing shown and WordPress hasn’t “auto saved”. Almost every night around this time this happens. I am starting to get upset by this just because I am trying to blog more but every time I do I lose it. Then it makes me mad so I don’t want to re do it. Blah. So, I guess I will just start typing everything in Evernote, that way I know it’s saved. I can copy and paste with the best of them.

/end rant

On to what the entry was suppose to be about. I feel like life has been passing me by the last couple of months but this is no surprise since I got older time doesn’t slow down at all. I remember when I was a kid summer lasted forever! I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Now, I wake up a new month as started. I am still dating checks for 2011. This fixing to be May what is wrong with me.

We have still been looking at houses and we haven’t found anything we like really. Everything that is in our price range isn’t really worth our time. To much work needs to be done to it to move in. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea of a “fixer-upper” but black mold isn’t on my top 10 things to live with. Just saying. :poke:

Cammie and I have been talking and trying to get some ideas together for her next visit coming this July. I think we have a couple places I know we want to do for sure. Zoo. FTW! 😀 Also, the more I talk to Kyle about it, the more he wants to come with us as well. 😀 We are pretty awesome like that.

I also renewed my Flickr pro account and uploaded a butt ton of photos there.

Well, I need to catch a shower before I head to bed. I have to be up early in the morning so I can go with my grandma to the doctor. Then we are going to go shopping then who knows what else.
